Writing Poetry Oct 2015 – Apr 2016

For new sessions in summer 2016, click here.

Six Saturday afternoons exploring poetry – ideal if you enjoy poetry and would like to experiment, whether you are new to writing poetry or have been doing it for years. You can drop in for individual sessions or get a discount by coming to a series. Please book in advance.

We’ll be looking at

  • Form – not just rhythm and rhyme but more subtle ways of structuring poems
  • Story – ways in which even a very short poem can tell a story
  • Voice and characters – who’s speaking the lines?

Tutor: Chris Fewings.
Chris has been writing and sharing his poetry for many years and some of the poems have been published in print and online poetry magazines. He was longlisted for the prestigious Café Writers Poetry Pamphlet Commission 2014 and was a runner-up in the Manchester Cathedral International Poetry Competition 2013.
