Moseley poetry workshops 7th April & 5th May
Continuing the long-running series on the first Saturday of each month – newcomers are very welcome.
- Both old hands and people who’ve recently started writing poetry have benefited from these sessions
- Led by experienced facilitator and poet Chris Fewings
- Saturday afternoons at 2pm in Park Road, B13. Please book in advance by contacting Chris. Prices below
Getting inside poetry: In each session we take time to enjoy poems by well-known poets and see what we can learn from them – we aim to ‘get inside’ the poems, not to tear them apart!
Let the poem write itself: Short writing activities allow you to experiment with words.
Reworking poems: We spend some time on techniques to get a draft poem into its final shape.
Each session has a theme, which you can interpret however you like! We also focus on a particular aspect of poetry each time. Saturdays at 2pm (finish at 4.30 – there’s a break in the middle).
The title of the 7th April workshop is Signs of Life and will include some activities on writing from the senses, and paring language down.
May 5th will have a double theme: Rhyme and relationships; tree and leaf.
If you’re at all interested in either, please get in touch a.s.a.p with any questions you may have or a firm booking, and I will send you more details.
Both workshops: £20 (payable on Saturday)
7th April only: £10
5th May only: £15 – or £12 if you book on Sunday 8th April at the latest.
